Van Mahotsav Diwas was celebrated at RIMT - Institute of Engg. & Technology (RIMT-IET), Mandi Gobindgarh.  About 500 plants were planted in the institute premises. This event was organized to create awareness about the importance of trees and to provide  healthy environment to the students. The inauguration of the event was done by Dr. Hukam Chand Bansal, Chairman, RIMT Institutes, Mandi Gobindgarh by planting a tree, followed by Mr. Vijayant Bansal, Vice Chairman, RIMT Institutes, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti (Principal, RIMT-IET), Dr. Bimal Anjum (Head , Department of Business Administration) , Heads of various departments, the faculty members, staff and the students. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hukam Chand Bansal stressed that there is no other alternative than to plant more and more trees to control the menace of pollution. He said that we should make efforts to create healthy surroundings as the environment is very important and it is our duty to save it for the future generations. As the new session has commenced, the management of college has implanted saplings thereby giving a message that as the years grow while these plants will be turned into trees, the students will be nourished in a proper manner and will come out with a comprehensive personality. Mr. Mehar Singh, Horticulture In-charge of the institute participated actively in the event.
